Opal Creek is an old mining settlement that has now turned into a educational center. The only way to get there is a three mile hike that starts where the road ends in the Santiam canyon. Taylor, Dylan, Stephanie and I had a great time hiking and swimming on this hot summer day. After our fun in the water and on the trail we were to hungry to fix dinner at home so we stopped by A&W for some dinner. I think it was the best way to spend a day that promised to be so hot.
